– Photodynamic Therapy-

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has been established as a safe modality of tumor ablation for numerous cancer indications. PDT can achieve high therapeutic efficacy at low doses resulting in localized chemical damage in the target lesions. The administration of photosensitizers (PSs) is a key component of PDT, and great strides have been made in the development of phototherapeutics with improved tumor specificity by targeting cancer specific signatures.

In this challenging context, we aim at developing new highly-selective, heavy-atom-free PS molecules with low dark cytotoxicity and efficacy.
